Conversion of Office Building to Contemporary Hotel for Ramada Encore
A former office building in the heart of Leicester's cultural quarter needed converting into a 117-bedroom contemporary hotel for Ramada Encore. We took the project over from the original design and build team partway through, with the challenge of delivering ground-floor spaces, reception, a lounge bar and a bistro restaurant, that met strict Ramada brand guidelines while still finding room for individual identity and style.
The Challenge

Our Response
Working within the Ramada brand framework, the design leant on feature lighting, bespoke joinery and quality finishes, all supported by a subtle, neutral colour scheme. This gave us room to bring character to the spaces without straying from brand standards balancing corporate consistency with a genuine sense of place.
The Outcome
The result is a practical yet atmospheric series of spaces across reception, lounge bar and bistro, giving the 117-bedroom hotel a considered identity within the constraints of a national brand. The subtle material and lighting choices carry the space from functional arrival point through to a genuinely inviting place to relax.
