Jojolounge Bar & Restaurant
A bar and restaurant in the heart of Birmingham's thriving business district needed a complete refurbishment. The brief called for a New York City-inspired venue with a retro style and old-fashioned quality with a twist rooted in the building's own history: it was formerly the office of the Law Stationery Society, where maps and legal documents relating to property purchases were once bought and sold.

The design leans into the history of the building, using maps and coordinates as a recurring design motif throughout the space as a direct nod to the building's past life. This is layered over a broader retro, New York-inspired aesthetic, giving the venue an old-fashioned quality with genuine character rather than a generic bar fit-out.
The Outcome
The result was a sophisticated city centre bar and restaurant and events space in the heart of Birmingham's business district, hosting everything from birthday celebrations to private events, with guests regularly praising the atmosphere, service and flexibility of the space.
