iHub Building RIBA International Design Competition
An RIBA International Design competition, drawing 71 entries, called for an iconic landmark building for Daventry one that could house conference and exhibition facilities, a café, a restaurant, and 60 innovation start-up offices under a single, cohesive identity.
The Challenge
Our Response
The concept was rooted in Daventry itself: the inherent friction between the urban and the rural. This tension shaped a sculptural, organic main building set against more linear blocks for the offices, together creating a genuine campus feel along the waterside setting.
The Outcome
The scheme was placed runner-up from 71 entries in the RIBA International Design competition. Judges praised it for its waterside place-making and the urban feel of the canal-side massing, recognition of how successfully the design balanced Daventry's urban and rural character within a single scheme.
