Floating Box Contemporary Extension in London
A semi-detached Victorian house in London needed a contemporary extension that would respect its neighbourhood context rather than fight against it. The brief called for a gym overlooking the garden, connected by a path running from the front of the house through to the back, while limiting the impact on both the existing building structure and the backyard footprint.

The proposal maximises usable floor area within a compact footprint, featuring a ground-floor sauna and shower with a route through to the garden, and an upper level given over to the gym itself. The front elevation uses etched glass to provide privacy into the gym space, giving the extension a contemporary, considered presence without exposing the interior to the street.
