Extra Care Scheme for Trent and Dove Chestnut Grange in Burton-On-Trent
Trent and Dove required the interior design for a 67-bed Extra Care scheme in Burton-on-Trent. The space studio won the commission against two other practices, following a presentation and a site visit to another recently completed project of ours, The Beacon Centre for The Blind.
The Challenge
Our Response
The scope covered a full range of communal spaces including a restaurant, coffee bar, hair salon, corridors, lounges and the show apartment, with a brief to give the whole scheme a hotel-like, quality feel rather than an institutional one.
The Outcome
Our early involvement created genuine synergy between our interior design and the architect's overall vision for the scheme, rather than the two developing in isolation. This allowed for deeper involvement throughout design development, giving room to implement changes as needed to ensure the space fully met the requirements of its user group.
