Hair Salon Refurbishment For Cawthorne & Wright in Leicestershire
Two former garage workshops needed knocking through into a single space for Cawthorne & Wright hair salon in Oakham, Leicestershire with the design challenge of making two separate structures feel like one cohesive salon. Compounding the problem, the newly created space was landlocked on three sides, severely restricting the daylight able to reach the interior.
The Challenge
Our Response
A carefully designed lighting scheme, combined with the use of roof lanterns, was introduced to bring natural light into the landlocked space and unify the feel of the combined workshops. Vibrant colour was used throughout to contrast against an otherwise architecturally minimal backdrop.
The Outcome
The finished layout includes a reception, waiting and retail area, 13 cutting stations and 6 backwash basins, fronted by a new shopfront.
