New Build Social Housing 21 Units Over 3 Sites in Bishops Cleeve

The Challenge
This competition winning project for Rooftop Housing Group in Bishops Cleeve, Gloucestershire was a scheme of 2 and 3 bed houses, set across 3 separate sites. All sites were brownfield with challenging footprints and restricted access.
Our Response
The development responds to the density, plot sizes, vehicular circulation and over-looking issues of the existing housing estate. The 5 housing types were designed to meet Rooftop Housing Group’s requirements for security, storage and space combined with economic and social longevity.
The Outcome
Whilst the proposal has a contemporary feel the aesthetics are appropriate for a rural development such as this. Our design approach consisted of a contemporary feel calibrated to suit a rural context, rather than looking out of place. The scheme maximises countryside views from the housing and whilst walking through.
