The Parkside atrium has been home to an exhibition space and small cafe area since the building opened. Due to space pressures we were commissioned to transform the atrium into a contemporary co-working / social learning space to maximise its use. The number of seats has been doubled and the variety is more suitable for visitors, cafe users, and co-workers alike. The tables adjacent to the flexible “shell” space fold up and move easily to facilitate a more open plan arrangement.

 

The vision for this was to create a calming yet dynamic space with a blend between the indoor and outside space by using natural finishes, live trees and earthy colours.
