Workplace Building Refurbishment in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter
Albion Court in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter previously had permission for residential units. The brief was to fully refurbish the building, creating an exciting workplace that could accommodate modern working patterns without losing the qualities of a traditional office building.
The Challenge
Our Response
The scheme combines traditional workplace qualities with new ways of working, offering office suites and floors alongside genuinely collaborative working spaces. The centrepiece of the design is a new atrium/courtyard space with a glazed roof, creating a dynamic, light-filled break-out area at the heart of the building.
The Outcome
The refurbished building went on to become fully let, with clothing brand Hoodrich taking the entire first floor to serve as its headquarters. Commercial agent Siddall Jones described the building as having been lovingly restored to provide first-class headquarter facilities, well suited to a modern business wanting to be close to the city centre.
