Three storey apartments on principle corner to create a focal point

This project was won in an invited design competition against a number of local practices who specialise in affordable housing. 

The design proposal is based on an understanding of the context, site, surrounding building typologies, urban grain, and massing. This approach results in a deceptively simple and legible site plan where the edges of the development respect the existing building lines, particularly along Wellington Road, including stepping back to meet the existing dwellings to the west. The development has a mix of housing types in accordance with the brief including 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses, and 2 bedroom apartments.
