Islington Row was a run down parade of shops adjacent to the Five Ways redevelopment area of Birmingham and at the edge of Calthorpe Estates Edgbaston Village. The brief was to refurbish the shopfronts and bring a sense of order and consistency to this important gateway.

 

New contemporary shopfronts were designed with a nod to the traditional along with uniform security shutters, external lighting, and signage. A set of strict design guidelines were determined for tenants to adhere to such as signage zones, window graphics, and sizing.
