We were commissioned to develop an interior scheme fora specially reconfigured bungalow for young adults with varying levels of learning disabilities. The scheme comprises of 1 permanent residents suite and 3 further en-suite bedrooms with private lounges for respite care.

There is a large communal dining room which leads into a veranda which overlooks the re landscaped garden. The key aspects of the brief were to ensure a domestic, warm and comfortable environment whilst still incorporating the necessary care requirements, durability and robustness. During the design process the Space Studio conducted a coffee morning with the service users and their families to gain feedback and approval on the proposed colour schemes and furniture selection. We also tendered all of the FF&E items to ensure the client got best value for money. The colour scheme was different within each suite. Using a clever blend of upholsteries in rich tones with painted feature walls and fabric panel artwork the scheme became a bright and welcoming space.
