Knowle
Client: Simon Lawson
Contractors: Ambre Interiors
Completion: August 2004
The refurbishment of this existing salon is the second project we have completed for this client following on from the success of the salon in Mell Square, Solihull.
The Knowle salon, which is significantly smaller, caters for a different clientele, and as such required a warmer, classic, more sophisticated aesthetic. This aesthetic is created by a deep red backdrop which is set against red cherry veneered bespoke furniture. The salon furniture is oyster although the stations designated for colouring are a darker, warmer colour.
Despite its restrictive size, the salon features 8 cutting stations and 3 backwash units, and is designed so as to maximize on the daylight available, and utilize reflections to increase the perceived size of the salon.
The reception, cloaks, and dispensary are clustered around the existing staircase at the rear for efficiency.
A large etched glass screen which masks the backwash area to create privacy also provides a connection to the client's other salon in Solihull.
