Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire
Client: Nicholas Graham Associates
Contractors: High Spec Interiors
Completion: January 2002
Housed in a 1960s spec office building in the main square, the space offers a unique and spectacular panoramic view of the historic town of Stratford.
With these views in mind, the design provides a large open plan office space for the various teams within the company. This space is arranged to maximise on the daylight and the aforementioned views. A spine wall provides a vast storage area which allows the necessary workings and paperwork of such an office to be tucked away behind a series of elegant birch faced plywood doors.
The other side of the wall houses innovative 'break out' areas such as informal meeting spaces and a juice bar, as well as the necessary staff kitchen and toilets. This side of the wall has been designated as the 'public' side, and as such accommodates a seminar suite which can be hired out to local businesses. Any visitors to this space will therefore not disturb the workers in the main office area as the wall acts as a barrier.
The materials and colours also reflect the division between the two sides which are naturally light and dark due to the expanse of windows.
