The apartment is set within one of Urban Splash's first residential conversion projects in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter.
Originally a one-bed, two bathroom layout, we re-designed the space to create a two bedroom apartment with one bathroom and a much
improved kitchen area, thus increasing the value of the property
significantly. This was done by 'sliding' the kitchen area forwards to
meet a structural column that helps define the main living space.
This area adjacent to the column was previously under-utilised circulation
space.
The space formerly occupied by an en-suite bathroom, circulation, and kitchen has been re-configured to create a good sized second bedroom, which features a huge etched glass screen to capture natural
daylight from the dining area. This glass screen compliments the thick
'glass green' worktop that wraps around the kitchen area.
The reconfiguring of the space has also resulted in the dining and living areas 'flipping' over to best suit the new layout by a greater relationship between kitchen and dining area.
The apartment also received a new timber floor, furniture and storage spaces.
