Client: Family Housing Association
Contractor: to be confirmed
Completion: March 2008

Don Lee house is a 1980s social housing apartment block which enjoys a fantastic location near St Chads Cathedral in central Brimingham.

We were commissioned to update the design of the communal areas, including entrance doors, foyer, main corridors, and stairwell. Although

at present the project does not extend to each individual flat, the front doors

to each flat is being replaced to create a more uniform and consistent look.

...the design process has included numerous meetings with the residents to ensure that the proposals are appropriate and that the residents feel some ownership of the project.

The design process has included numerous meetings with both client and residents to ensure that the proposals are appropriate, welcomed, and that the residents feel some ownership of the project.

The new entrance doors will give the building a more approachable and

contemporary look, as well as bringing more daylight into the entrance area.

This entrance area is freshened up by new flooring, lighting, wall finishes, and the redesign of the existing planting feature.

The corridors are given a brighter and consistent look with new lighting, flooring (with integrated mat wells), doors, ironmongery, and textured wallpaper.
