"Sun-tracker" house

Warwickshire

Client: private client
Contractor: to be confirmed
Completion: to be confirmed

This proposal for a bespoke, contemporary private house, is one of several options made to the client.

The site enjoys fantastic views down a huge slope to open fields and countryside. This design option features a house of 3 distinct, yet integrated components. Firstly there is a functional bedroom block which consolidates all of the cellular, private spaces to the 'private' side of the site. Secondly there is an open plan glazed quadrant section which provides all of the key living accommodation in order to maximise on the spectacular views and available sunlight, in effect, the activities within the house' track' the sun as it moves across the site through the day.

The third and final element, is a semi-circular glazed element which

acts as an intermediate space between the two key accommodation blocks.

This central space includes an open plan kitchen which acts as a social

heart of the house.

The house also features a basement level which is predominantly for

entertainment, although the home office is situated to also enjoy the

view as the ground level falls away, to reveal the countryside beyond.

The scheme will also feature a detailed landscaping scheme as the

design is evolved.
