This refurbishment of 52 rooms and en-suite bathrooms, reception, function suite, exterior facades and rear courtyard had to be completed without closing the hotel to guests for a single day. Our proposals also included an element of re-branding to re-establish this family run, independent hotel as destination venue in Birmingham.
The design is in a classic modern style with cool neutral shades and oak in the bedrooms which is accompanied by a palette of grey in the bathrooms.
key points
- the work was phased to not only allow for continuous operation but also to assist with it's funding
- the rear courtyard was developed in anticipation for the smoking ban
- the front facade was completely refurbished to create a significant road presence
- several energy saving techniques and devices are used to reduce running costs
