Lloyds Colour Lounge, Carr Lane, Hull
Client: Steve Wilkes
Status: Completed April 2003 |
The existing neglected shop unit was transformed into a spectacular award winning salon.
The salon was given great street presence by a combined reception area and coffee bar with plasma screens and large areas of retail product display. The remainder of the ground floor was divided into a main cutting floor and back of house facilities. A new mezzanine floor created a specific colouring area and the basement area was used to house the private beauty treatment area with massage, aromatherapy, and tanning services.
key points
- boundaries blurred between reception area, cafe, and salon cutting floor
- minimal colour and material pallette
- dramatic brand colour yellow lighting set within suspended glass canopy
- shortlisted for Hairdressers Journal "Salon Design of the Year" 2003
