Contemporary House, Ironwall Lane, Tutbury
Client: Faycross Developments
Status: Planning Permission received |
The proposal is for a 2500 sq ft contemporary house which takes its influence from the neighbouring 1970s chalet style houses.
The spaces are organised around a central double height lightwell which reaches down to a lower half level, helping to visually tie this sunken level to the rest of the accommodation. The sunken level houses the kitchen and also forms an external courtyard. Sustainability is the other key design generator, utilising natural ventilation, ground source heating, solar thermal, and low embodied energy materials.
